Pilgrimage to Vacation

I said goodbye to Women Touched by Grace.  We got news at our closing dinner that our grant for continuing the program has been approved.  So we will meet once a year for three more years, but not in Rome!

I think a difference between pigrimage and vacatyion for me is time for reflection.  Usually when I travel I want to see it all.  I rush and go full speed and then promptly forget a great deal of it after I get home.  This trip had built in time for silence, for reflection, for writing and I think I have absorbed more than usual.  I would like to travel this way all the time, but it still feels somewhat wasteful to do othing when I coulod be seeing another masterpiuece or work of art.

Jack and I met at the train yesterday and traveled safely to Florence where we hooked up with our dear friends Jill and Jay Hudson.  Moew museums and churches and amazing art.  Tomorrow is a wine tour of Tuscany and then on to Lucca and Siena then Cinque Terra and Venice and Assissi and whatever else we can find in between.  Thanksgiving will be in Venice.

I pray for you all in every church.  This will be the end of the blog until my return.  <i am doing this from an internet cafe and I am the oldest person in here and the music is so loud I can hardly think.  So know I am thinking of you and will fill you in more upon our return.

I am thinking of continuing the blog when I get home to talk about movies and books and life and God.  What do think:  Would anyone read it?

So long for now...Ciao

I would read it - especially if there is a topic. I like to hear what people are thinking about. There is a Presbyterian blog site:

"Presbyterian Bloggers: A community for those whose blogging is decent and in order."

I think that young adults and teens will use and read your blog. I wish that I could have had one when we were trying to talk about computers in the 3-5th gr. classroom. Email just doesn't get it done.

I would continue reading the blog. That's a great idea! Thanks for keeping us posted on your journey through Italy. Sounds like you have had a wonderful time! You didn't want to hang out in Rome for the TomKat wedding festivities huh? It looked like the city was pretty crazy over there on the news! Have a great rest of your trip and Happy Thanksgiving in Venice!

Continuing your blog would be fantastic! We used to really enjoy your movie reviews on the website and would love to be able to read them in your blog in the future. Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the rest of your travels!
