User error on the computer makes this difficult.
Yesterday I meant to tell you that when the Pope blessed us he "willingly extended his blessing to our families and congregations." So you have all been blessed.
Today we traveled out of Rome (YEAH!) to the little village of Nurcia. This is when St Benedict was born. We had lunch with a community of Benedictine Sisters there.
The countryside is bella (beautiful). The leaves are turning and the colors are beautiful. Jack has arrived in Rome but we have not been able to connect. The desk clerk at his hotel is not much for English so I am having some difficulty. Ho[pefully we will connect by Saturday when we are supposed to be on a train for Florence.
Hope all is well with all of you. Caio. |

well, well, well, so costume tell everything. Love all the talk of clothes! I spoke w/ a very fat and very smart american who loved the chadra. She tought it hid class (yeah sure) and also girth, so she could finally feel comfortable with inteigence w/o being judged by her body. I can't tell you how delighted I was to read about the clerical collar in Rome. I think there need to be more clerical collars in the US. People want to see God amongst us, and that is what the collar symbolizes (i know it can be a burden for the people saddled with wearing the thing). Unfortunately. as a fashion it is inhibiting---interesting that we want to make a statement in Rome, but not in the US.
Hasta luego---what a marvelous trip you're having! J! |
